A Field in Tuscany

with Lynn Payette

A 'Field in Tuscany' is a non-charted design worked in fabrics, Brazilian threads, pearl cottons, silk ribbons and beads, with heavy emphasis on using foreground, midground, and background areas to create depth and perspective, form, shadows, and movement to the 'fields'.

In depth discussions for the use of cast shadows to create a realism and distance in the piece, stitching and manipulating of silk ribbon, layering stitches for the trees, and working with fusible web will be covered.

This piece gives the student an opportunity to create their own Tuscany landscape and is a wonderful tool for learning about shadows, depth, and perspective, and their use in embroidery. Size is 4" x 6"
